I make films and games in Adelaide. Most of what I do is FMV — live-action footage turned into something you can play. The stories tend to live inside screens: desktop windows, browser tabs, video calls. The kind of stuff you stare at every day, except now there's a missing person in one of the tabs. 我做影像,也做游戏,更常常做的是介于两者之间的东西。我对屏幕里的生活感兴趣——那些视频通话的尴尬停顿、来不及发出去的消息、深夜还亮着的浏览器标签——它们都是好故事的开头。

She disappeared without a word. Your screen is the only lead.

OFFLINE is a desktop mystery. Everything happens on one screen — video calls, browser tabs, terminal windows, messages you never finished typing. You met Maya at an online game jam. Three months of late nights in different time zones, building something together. By the time the project shipped, she wasn't just a teammate. Then one day — silence.

The police can't help. So you open your laptop and start digging. If you've played Her Story or Simulacra, or seen a Screen Life film like Searching, you'll recognise the format. Everything is real footage. The whole game looks and feels like using an actual computer — because it basically is one.

她突然就不见了。你的屏幕,是唯一的线索。

你和 Maya 是在一次线上 game jam 上认识的。三个月,跨着深夜的时区,把一个游戏从零做到能跑。交付那天,她已经不只是搭档。然后,最后一天——她消失了。没有消息,没有再见。

警察帮不上忙。所以你打开自己的笔记本,开始一点点往下挖——她的浏览器记录、聊天框、社交账号、电脑里所有还没来得及关掉的窗口。《OFFLINE》是一部完全发生在一块屏幕里的悬疑作品。它的灵感来自《Her Story》、《Simulacra》和近年的 Screen Life 电影——用真实拍摄的影像,去讲一个只能在屏幕里发生的故事。在一个所有联系都要经过设备的世界里,「找到一个人」这件事,到底意味着什么。

Orientation — Study Abroad: The Classic Kick-Off

An FMV interactive drama about arriving in Australia as a new international student. Live-action, branching storyline, multiple endings. Almost everyone who worked on it — cast and crew — is a current or former international student. In development for Steam. 一部第一人称视角的 FMV 互动剧,发生在澳大利亚。整部作品由分支式的实拍场景组成——你以一个刚到的留学生身份开始,自己选每一步:遇到什么人、做什么决定、错过什么瞬间,最后走向哪一种结局。全部在地实拍,剧组里 99% 都是现役或者曾经的留学生。目前正在为 Steam 开发。

A music video shot around Adelaide. One of the first things I filmed here. Mostly an excuse to point a camera at this city and figure out what it looks like. 在阿德莱德拍的一支音乐录像。这座城市有一种很特别的光、很安静的空气,我想试试看,能不能把这种东西放进一首歌里。一次关于节奏和构图的练习,也是一次关于一个地方怎么承接一段旋律的尝试。

Most of my work starts from the same question: what happens when you tell a story inside a screen that looks like the one you're already using? I shoot live-action footage and build it into things people can interact with — games, mostly, but also things that don't fit neatly into any category. The stories are usually in English and Chinese, because that's how I think.

I run PIPPOSTUDIO out of Adelaide. Small team — a few people who write, shoot, act, and run our Chinese social media accounts on 小红书 and B站. We're working on several FMV and narrative game projects. OFFLINE is the first one heading to release.

I moved to Adelaide a few years ago and I'm still figuring out what kind of city it is for making things. It's quieter than anywhere I've lived before. I like that.

我做影像和互动媒体,长期在想一件事——电影离开影院、走到屏幕里之后,还能变成什么样的东西。这几年我一直在试着把电影和游戏的语言搅在一起:用真实拍摄的画面讲一个非线性的故事,让观众变成做选择的人。

PIPPOSTUDIO 是我创立的工作室,在阿德莱德。我们是一支小团队,覆盖剧本、拍摄、出镜和内容运营——也包括在小红书和 B 站已经做出一些观众基础的几个账号。我们在同时推几个 FMV 和叙事游戏项目,《OFFLINE》是其中第一部要正式发行的。

阿德莱德是一座我还在认识的城市——它的光、它的节奏、它的创作生态都和别处不一样。我希望能一直从这里出发,把影像、游戏、和这座城市本身的气质,慢慢做成一个更长的东西。
